Volunteer Specialist
Summary of Position:
The Volunteer Specialist maintains schedules, communication and records for the volunteers, as well as training the volunteers and overseeing the volunteer projects in a collaborative environment.

Wage: $17.25-$20.00 / hr
Hours: 30-40 hrs/ week
Schedule: shifts vary Tuesday through Saturday. 
Reports to: Executive Director

Summary of Position

  • Support the volunteer team and help foster a collaborative environment

  • Maintain volunteer schedules, communication, and records

  • Facilitate trainings and the preparation of volunteer tasks 

  • Work closely with the entire Art Salvage team

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate trainings and orientations for volunteers

  • Prepare tasks for volunteers and maintain an appropriate selection of tasks for volunteers to choose from based on the volunteer schedule

  • Manage the volunteer schedule 

  • Maintain volunteer records

  • Lead the volunteer committee meetings and track the progress of goals

  • Manage communications and e-newsletter to volunteers

  • Complete tasks alongside volunteers to support the team on a regular basis

Other Duties

  • Cashier as needed to support the Reuse Specialist lunch breaks and time off 

  • Be onsite as a responsible staff member to support events, programs and other needs for the organization.

Qualifications

  • Passion for the Art Salvage mission

  • High school diploma or equivalent, + 2 years work experience

  • Excellent people skills

  • Flexibility to work with a diverse community and changing environment

  • Experience with people of varying ages and abilities 

  • Growing knowledge of art materials and mediums

  • Strong work ethic and promptness 

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of email

  • Proficient with Google Drive and Google Docs

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Must have access to reliable transportation

  • Must be flexible working in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures

  • Lift and carry minimum of 30 pounds

  • Bend, lift, and move items on shelves
